I was thinking about selling a few of my games, and to be honest, I feel a bit worried about where they are gonna end up. I don't think I'd want to sell my games to some random dude who will turn them into multicades, or worst, a mame cab; especially after all the time I spent restoring them.

Money is money, but still it would certainly be a heartbreak knowning that one of my cab got turned into a mame monster.

Do you guys 'screen' your buyers before selling them your cabs?

I guess I never thought about that. I've been lucky with mine. The ones I have sold either ended up in collections or made it back into the real world on route. Nobody has ever said anything like "I'm going to mount the monitor the wrong way and rip the guts out and put a 3 quadrillion in 1 board or a computer and an aircraft carrier sized control panel on it and claim its 'restored'". I would probably have to say something like "I don't care if you drove from the other side of the Earth, but that's not going to happen." I may have gotten frustrated with my Dig Dug and Donkey Kong but I don't want that happening to them.

I could care less what happens to my games after they are gone to a degree, the person who buys it gets to choose what they do with it. I'd prefer they stay original but ultimately it is their choice.

I just want my games sold :)

I haven't sold any of my games yet, but would definitely try to do so through KLOV. It's far more likely to end up in good hands here than throwing it to the CL/eBay wolves.

I agree for the most part. I would hope the games I sold weren't hacked but in the end there's only so much you can do.

I screen people too. Not so much on the future of the game but more so on the question of is this person going to make me regret selling the game to them.

I had it happen once with a project pinball game that I had sold to a collector. He called me almost daily for a couple of months asking various questions and letting me know about little issues he found with a game.

I don't mind helping people out and I sort of expect to hear from the homeowner (non collector) type people occasionally but every day was a tad excessive.

i don't really, but all my stuff has gone to good homes at local collectors when i've sold. didn't necessarily plan on it happening this way, but it just did. i have yet to sell a game to a mamer or that type of person, but i generally don't price my stuff real low, unless it's a game that would go for real low dollars.
