Was wondering if there was a status quo on listing your MVS or other arcade cartridges in VAPS? Is is encouraged or maybe frowned upon as "padding"?

haha, you know what? I dont think I ever thought about that!

I guess technically is a game??

Padding? In my VAPS?

Tired old memes aside, if you're padding your e-peen, you have an unhealthy obsession with your e-peen. I put my ST-V carts on my VAPS because now people know that, hey, I have that game, and I could give them pointers on the game or just shoot the shit about it. And if they're in the area, I might be receptive to letting them stop by and play a few...

I agree they should be in your VAPS, but only in the video board section. Not videogame. That is where I put mine.

Since I have nearly 100 PCBs, I don't bother with the board section. You then have to keep track and edit every time you buy or sell one.

So I just list the actual cabinets I have, regardless of whether or not it is a conversion with a different game inside.

If VAPS separated pcbs from actual machines, I'd list mine, but as it stands, adding all those extras just clutters up the "uni-list" they have. I sure wish they would break it down into two separate lists: one for games (cabinets) and one for boards. Nahhh.... that'd be too logical.....

For what its worth, I list the PCBs, MVS carts, dedicated cabs, conversion cabs, and pinballs. The way I see it, it was hard as hell for me to find and collect a lot of those titles and I am damned proud of the list. Plus, it gives a pretty good indication of the state of my collection at any one time. Also, I am hoping to raise my states rank on the statistics page. And if you aren't going to keep your list updated, what's the point of being on it. Plus, its still a pretty good way of locating those hard to find titles when someone somewhere has something on your want list for sale. I suppose I could understand if you had 300 machines and 900 pcbs, but as long as all your games fit in one room/house you might as well list them. But hey, that's just my 2 bits.

Am I misunderstanding what "video board" mean?

There is a videogame section and a video board section.

videogame = dedicated/ conversion machines
video board = arcade PCBs, MVS carts, Playchoice carts.

This is my understanding as well. Boards are loose boards/carts containing game data, and machines would at least have a display and some sort of input as well as a board.

Or was that trolling at an advanced level...? :) Well played, Dr. Morbis!!

I don't have many carts or PCBs, but it would still clutter up my VAPS listing too much. I still get annoyed that the pins are mixed in with the vids. It would be great to be able to list by type.

I hate how it clutters up my VAPS page, but I list all my MVS carts too. I've spent more on some of those kits than I have on some of my full-sized cabs, and if anyone ever wants to know which games my Neo is running or the like, I want them to be on there for completion's sake...

Yeah. It would also be too logical to have commas where they are supposed to be in the high score list.

I used to list my boards and carts on VAPs, but then my list just looked too busy so I took them off.

Personally, I decided to list my actual cabs and what I'm running in them. Carts/PCBs are extra IMO.

You don't tell people, "I own a PS3 and this game and this game and this game and this game, etc."

Some members even list their individual MVS system boards because of the different features--like slots and memory card support.

With CAPCOM, I list my individual CAPCOM CPS "B" boards (or game carts).

Yeah, it's funny, I have only have, like 15~ish CPS I/II "A" (system) boards--the rest are "B" boards (game carts).

You obviously haven't seen the games list feature in Steam Community...

Nope! I have a Steam account, but don't go on much. But good for them for taking the time to list their entire console library. :)

Unless you're just talking about how you can see what games each user owns on Steam. That's different since it's automated and you can see each users achievements and such.

Though, another reason to maybe list carts/PCBS in VAPS is if you have them for sale and want to list each one with a price.
