Do NOS Willis overlays detract from value?

True.

In that vein, all those Multi-Williams overlays should evoke even more disdain than a Willis.

You see how they crammed all those game references and colors onto the overlays and side-art? Looks like a clown threw up on them.

(Below is a picture of an Asteroids Deluxe control panel with a Willis overlay that I think is better than the default original).

There was a Willis on my Q*bert originally.

I did not want to "be" any of the characters depicted on that overlay. I did not want them in my house.

One of the images in this thread looked pretty good, the one with the spaceship flying towards the camera, whatever the hell it was, Phoenix or Spacefag or something. I had no idea there was even one nice Willis print, so this thread was educational and informative.

However, if Q*bert looked like he does in the Willis CPO, I would spend each game immediately throwing that mishappen, grotesque goblin off the top of the pyramid for a score of zero each and every time.
 
I skimmed through looking for pictures... so I know know where the thread got derailed, actually... not even 100% sure if it did, just assuming it did.

But some of those CPO's aren't half bad. I'll take a Willis ANYDAY over my blank (bare wood) Robotron CP, or my pleather Jungle Hunt. ... no really, I'll take one any day. Won't actually pay for one (minus shipping maybe), but I'll take one any day. lol

Although that Centipede is pretty sweet.

I do miss all the witty banter between Phet and Jow... was very entertaining.

As for the Willis overlays, I like the Centipede and Phoenix ones. I even like the Joust one with the ostriches a little bit.

Oh, and the Lolipop Flamer overlay kinda grew on me after a while...
 
As far as Willis overlays, I actually prefer the Willis Space Invaders overlay to the silkscreened metal Midway one. The Willis one features the aliens from the bezel and side art, which ties the whole cabinet art together nicely.

I also like the Asteroids Deluxe #2 overlay.

But most Willis art pales in comparison to the original... anybody dug up a picture of the "slutty" Ms.PacMan side art? Or the regular PacMan side art in which PacMan has muscular yellow legs?
