Do I want to repair, or replace?

I have a Dixie Narco 2-deep Pepsi machine. It's an R12 unit. When I got it (used), I had to have it recharged for $70. That was 5 months ago. Well, it stopped getting cold again today. It sounded like the compressor kept kicking on and off....

This machine earns about $15 per week. Do I want to invest on a new compressor deck? Do I want to just tell the location that it didn't earn enough, and pull out? Do I want to look for a newer machine?

Thanks

if its a nice looking machine just replace the cooling unit. If I remember someone on here was selling them for a lot less than a replacement machine will cost you, and if you buy another machine you never know if your going to wind up in the same situation anyway

Figure if it costs you $150 to get up and running again, that's 10 weeks before you even break even, assuming you're talking $15 profit and not $15 total. It's your call.

If you're doing this for profit then I wouldn't even keep a machine in that location for just $15.00 a week.

If you put the machine in an office or break room for your employees or to give your customers something cold to drink while they visit, then I would say go ahead and replace the compressor / cooling unit.

A newer (i.e. expensive) machine is not even an option here. At least IMHO.

Paul.

I sold the machine for $150. Not really thinking about putting another machine in that location yet.
