Received a replacement DMD display today thanks to Todd from TNT so I'm playing around with the display I replaced. These are the large DMDs from Sega games and new replacements are $450-$500 so I'd love to fix this one.

I repaired 4 out of 5 lines with small gauge wire and solder, but the solder keeps popping off the glass side connection. Has anybody used conductive epoxy? If so, does the epoxy eventually let loose just like the solder? It seems to me with all the vibrations a pin generates this type of repair may only be temporary.

Just looking for words of wisdom from someone who's repaired these before.

TIA, :beerchug:

Go to Autozone or your favorite car parts place ans look for a "rear defroster repair kit". It has conductive paint in it for bridging broken traces / lines. If the break is close to the glass I would use it. If its sticking out enough to solder go that route.

Three were broke right were the ribbon cable attached to the glass so I'm stuck with doing something on the glass.

I'll definitely head down into town tomorrow morning to get some of that defroster paint.

Thanks a lot for that idea. :beerchug:
