I got my DKJR Sideart for Chrismas! I wanting too put this on the cab tommorrow. Removing the Bolts from the side holding the Monitor? Is it going too fall if i remove those Bolts from 1 side at a Time?

Can someone post pics of the DKJR Sideart soo i can get the right Placement on where too put it.

Take the bolts out one at a time and put them back from the inside just enough to hold the monitor in place but not protrude from the side of the cab.
As long as you don't move the cab the monitor will stay put.
Do one side and replace the bolts then proceed to the other side.
Not sure on placement since I don't own a DKJR.

I can verify the method of doing one side at a time and putting the bolts back in from the inside will work just fine. Congrats on the sideart xmas gift!

so your saying you take the bolts out one at a time and out them in backwards?

Ty for the remark about the gift of the dkjr sideart .. It was my big gift this year.

Yep, just take them out one at a time, on one side, and put them back in from the inside of the cabinet. Just enough to where the bolt butts up to the edge on the outside of the cab. This will give you enough support for the monitor and a flat surface to put the art on.

Just measured mine for you. It starts exactly 2" from the top of the tmolding to Donkey Kongs head. Hope that helps

+1

When I applied mine, I used as many pictures of original cabs found on the web as I could find to determine the proper side art placement. I used the location of the monitor bolts as a reference - on one side, the bolts should go through the bird's wings; on the other they should go through Donkey Kong's fingers. As it turns out, mine also ended up starting 2" from the top of the cab.

O.k got 1 side on today! Boy this is stressfull stuff! I Can it taped onto the machine at the corners and as i was removing the backing on it .. It came off the machine! ahhh I quickly tolk the rest of the backing off and slowly placed it onto the side.

I think i did o.k. for my first time. I think i did better then Noice lol!

Side art

You can always use the spray bottle method. Spray bottle full of water with one small drop of dish soap. Then use a little squeegee or your had to work out air and left over spray. If it's large side art it's the only way to go! You must always prep the hell out of the side of the machine before you do it. I always try to make the sides look like new before I stick on side art. I did a dragon's Lair machine without re-doing the sides once and I always hated how it looked. Just take your time to work out all the air pockets. Good luck!

Tape the art on the side to get it where you want it.
Next put tape at the middle of the art and then remove the tape from the top edges
and carefully remove the backing of the top section and apply from the middle up,working it from side to side as you go up.
Then repeat for the bottom half.
Take your time and it will go on good.
Just make sure the bottom section is taped in place real good so it can't fall off.

I did'nt think about taping under the side art .. I had it taped and kept falling off the side as i just got it lined up.

When i was taking the back of it off it did come off and i quickly removed the backing. I Slowly tryed lining it up Slowly started sticking it too the side of the cab.

The hard part was the Middle of the side art.

I really hate the stuff on top of the sideart Removing that with it on the cab was allmost Harder then placing the side art its self.

I'm worn out and i only did one side lol. Yeah I cleaned the side of the cab before added the sideart.

I will do the other side Friday!!

It might depend who you bought it from, but I've found that dampening the protective paper makes it really easy to remove. Again, it might depend on the type. I did that and it just peeled right off with no effort.

Well shoot I tryed that pulling alittle bit and then cutting it but i started doing it at the bottem!.

This Guy was doing alot Smaller of a Side art doing it that way.

I said before i think i did a good job for my first time today.
Here is a pretty good vid on the method I use to apply side art.

Good way!

That's a good way to do it just make sure to clean off the part that you cut. I have found that when you cut the back paper you have to make sure you don't have any small paper parts. Just run your thumb and pointing finger over the edge. that will keep any of extra from sticking to the sideart when you lay it down. If you miss some you will have a little bump under your art.
