Hi All,

A few years ago I purchased a programmable multi-game board from Arcade Shop and I am just getting around to completing my build. I contacted Steven Gregory to purchase the DK2 ROMs for this board but he told me that he no longer sells them. I then contacted Jeff K to see if I could purchase the ROMs directly from him but he said he doesn't know how AS made them work on the multi-board.

I am not trying to bypass paying for these ROMS but no one seems to want to sell them to me. Does anyone know where I can purchase them? If not, does anyone have a set they are willing to sell or share?

Thanks in advance,

I'm pretty sure that, based upon the code/password that I was given when I bought mine, that the programming software was confirming the validity of you key via the Internet. My guess is that you are out of luck at this point. And FYI, the actual ROM CODE for D2K is embedded within the programming software, which is why you don't have a romset to download, as it is loaded into the programmer from within the programming interface software...

That really sucks to pay that much and get left high and dry..... Anyone seen FrizzleFried?

Thanks for your response.

I would be surprised at that. This would require a pretty significant addition to the menusys code. More likely the code is run against some internal algorithm to confirm its validity. I could try your code on my system and see if it requires an internet connection. ;)

Actually, I believe that all the ROMs are embedded in the menusys software. The versions of ROMs have to have been modified to work with the on-screen menu, soft dip switches, free play, etc. I believe that the software is only choosing to show you the games for which you have ROMs but is only using your ROMs as a means of activating the menu options. This is why (I believe) games like Pengo will not play the Popcorn music even if you have the Popcorn ROMs.

I have no real info to back either of these statements - just somewhat educated guesses.
