I'm looking to replace my old style plug wiring harness with a new on that has a edge connector. I was hoping Dokert and co. was still making theres or someone had a extra lying around.

Thanks

Adaptor available from www.arcadeshop.com

www.arcadeshop.com sells an adaptor that does just this. It allows you to connect the edge style nintendo boards to the old style non edge connector harness.

He sent me this to test and it works great. If you do not see them on his website just email them for price/information

This was a proto so those things may have been added by now. I would contact Arcadeshop and ask the current status of this project/item if interested.

Mark please post some pictures of your version (if it really exists) and a link to where they can be purchased (if they are for sale and not just more Spaeth vaporware).

Thanks!

What a surprise... the petty thief calling me a liar.

I've posted these for sale here on several occasions... ask Steve Wiebe -- he's got one in his DKJr so he can play Popeye in it.

Oh, lookie... I happen to have my camera with me with an old memory card in it, with pics from over 2 years ago:

Nice!
I Like the 90degree angle edge connector. Extra controls would only be better in a CT though.

I would think popeye wouldnt work that well on a vert monitor. It would be as bad as playing mario bros in the 2005 Donkey Kong 3-1.

I would be surprised if TG would allow him to submit a score for Popeye with a non original set up.

It's trivial to pull out and rotate the monitor. Most Nintendo cabs have the bolt holes and bolts for the horizonal mount monitor brackets.

TG allowed him to get a DK score in a DKJr cabinet... Why not Popeye?

This just lets him swap boards with 1 edge connector instead of 10 little connectors.

I don't really care who "stole" this idea or who innovated the same end result from the same situation given the same knowledge - as is likely to happen in a limited field :p

So sit here and banter back and forth all day about who is the smartest cookie or maybe try posting a link (as previously requested) to your innovative product and/or website so you can make some actual cash money, instead of mensa points.

I, for one, would gladly purchase one - if given the opportunity!

you can't play mario bros with two players with that thing.

It is made for the DK and DKJ UR cabinets. Having 2nd player controls for MB would do you no good unless you swapped out the control panel and wiring harness of the original DK/DKJ machine. Changing the wiring harness does sort of defeat the purpose of the adaptor. While it may not be practical for EVERY use it is great for testing boards and for its target use which is running an edge style DK/DKJ board in a non edge style DK/DKJ cabinet. Popeye will also work fine but Popeye and MB both require a horizontal monitor orientation.

You could benefit from those extra controls in the DK/DKJ CT machines but of course the edge style boardsets would not fit in the machine.

dkjr style cocktails have an edge connector, and the two board sets fit great. I sold mine on sunday, and I miss it already. :001_ssad:

another 4 pin connector for luigi (left, right, jump, ground) with an option to buy a 2nd player cp harness, would make the thing full featured.

Wow I never realized DK and DKJ ct cabinets were that different. I guess I never had 2 side by side or noticed DKJ was bigger. Good info to know.
(i knew it had the edge connector wiring though)
Thanks.
