I get some medium shaking/jittering (left/right) on my DK especially when the stomps or pounds sounds happen. I've read this can be power related or pot related on the pcb. I've got a bunch of pots on the way since they are so cheap. I am using an original PS and the monitor was fully redone plus amp pcb a couple years ago. I probably need to rebuild all my nintendo power supplies anyway. Anyone resolved this issue?

Thanks,

Put the Monkey on a diet then!!

Start with swapping out another Nintendo pcb if you have one.
Pots are always good, no need for new unless you don't have a detox spRay and spin the knows back and forth. I'm sure you already reflow ed those solder points.

Did you measure voltage?

Put in a Jr. PCB and I noticed the tiniest little jitter. That may be because I'm hyper-watching it and it's my mind playing tricks on me. I did reflow the pots on the DK. My Jr. PCB I just picked up does have replacement pots, btw. Didn't check voltages yet. Should I measure at the chips? Honestly, my Nintendo games have always just run great, so never really troubleshot any of them.

Always measure at the chips.
Usually, I go from harness to the CPU. Just to see if there is a voltage drop, especially if kits are added on.

I assume if it is low, I'll need to recap the PS. No adjustments on that PP7B that I'm aware of.

I'm getting 4.95 at most chips. Only 3.6 at the z80. Removed my Remix kit and still only getting 3.6. I swapped the vpos and hpos pots to see if the shaking would change axis. That's all I did, and now it's way worse. Won't stabilize at all and it's jumping up/down super fast. Not like before. No adjusting will make it stop. I swapped the pots back and no change. What did I damage while swapping those pots?

Now, i do not know this for sure but I suspect those two pots may be of different values?

Looks like they are different values:

Pots should be 50k each. Don't know what's on there now though

Only thing I can think of atm is that a trace lifted when desoldering.

Wait... I am guessing you're talking about the pots on the DK PCB set? Again, you still might want to check the values.

The board has worked fine for years and the pots appear to be original. And yes, the pots on the pcb.

I'll check for continuity on the traces for the pots. What about my voltages? Is it common to see that much drop to the z80?

Well, I did lift a trace. Grrr. I hate when I do more damage while trying to fix something. I believe one of the pots is bad, also, though. The center leg of the pot should have continuity with one of the outside legs. One of the pots does not have this continuity. I've order the wrong size twice now. Do you know what to search for in order to get the right leg spacing on these pots? I'll get new pots and repair the trace on the back side. Thanks for guidance, Joe.

Got new pots in and repaired my trace. Back to normal. Shaking still present. Guess rebuilding the PS is next. Shout out to Joe for hooking me up with the pots on my last order from him. Great guy.
