well, I adjusted the B+, as per what Dokert and select other members have said over the years to do. started out at 110.8V, then got it at 108V exactly, and it was a bitch to do cause the B+ pot had some white out looking crud layered on it, and after trying about 4 different flatheads I was able to finally get it to turn. did this with the power off.. and magically got the sweet spot on the 14th try.

I had the brightness turned up and noticed that the wave in the picture is actually caused by the retrace lines, so is this in fact a filter cap issue?

geometrically and color-wise everything looks fine.

also, yeah, please welcome me to the DK owners club. loving it. lol

how do the vertical mounting brackets work, do they attach to the monitor and the monitor still slides left and out like it would a horizontal one? I got 3 spares now, and was wondering what I'm looking at should I ever have to replace it or take it out to do work.

very good. I'll specify that it's a noob question next time. :)

I even phrased the title in a noob fashion.

Hehe. Sorry. I didn't see this the first time, then when you bumped it, I couldn't resist...

Yeah, change the filter cap. The reason you're having such a hard time dialing in 108v is because it's not steady, and it sags too easily with screen content.

As for the mounting brackets, the vertical mount brackets bolt into the game, then the monitor kinda sits in them and bolts down. To remove the monitor, take the four screws out that hold the monitor to the brackets, and just lift it out. It's actually a nice mounting system, since the monitor just sits in there even without bolts, which makes installing/removing it with one person easy.

taking the horizontal ones out is kind of hard. my hands aren't even that big and they get smashed in the sides and cut up on the metal. I can't exactly hulk smash the thing from top and bottom.... regardless, I still manage to get them in and out, that's why 19" monitors are nice. I did a 25" myself once on a Blitz '99... that was a unique experience.

do you know of a B+ pot replacement for these, like what the resistance is on it? mine's pretty friggin janky, I got it at a steady 107.9, but it's like it's just a wiper, no knob. both that and the spare I bought are like that, I guess they're all that way?

I could check bob's too.

just haven't had the time lately. give it a couple months, then I'll have all the time in the world again. :)
