DK Monitor Sync Issue

I had a trashed Mario dedicated cab that I took the monitor out of because it was burn free and worked great. I wanted to use it in a DK but with that monitor in no matter what I connect to it the screen looks like it has a sync issue. When I connect a pattern generator to it that problem goes away. I have tried a DK board and a DK JR board. All the same. I have one of the mikes arcade replacement harnesses in it that connects to the edge. This problem exists no matter if I use the monitor connection that comes from the harness or if I connect it to the monitor output on the board. I have not had this happen before. I am stumped. Probably going to be something silly that I am overlooking.

The horizontal hold adjustment is not on the small board with the other pots, it's buried near the middleish of the chassis. Adjust that one.

Tried a second monitor. Same thing. I guess the adjustment could be off on both, but that would be odd. Trying your suggestion now. Thanks, I'll come back with results. I forgot about that adjustment.

Like I said...something dumb and it was. I think what threw me off was the fact that the pattern generator was fine. Totally forgot about that adjustment there. BTW same issue with the other monitor...LOL! Thanks for the layup answer. LOL! I needed it.

Every pcb, and pattern generator, output slightly different sync frequencies (also, components age) hence the need for an adjustment pot. Glad you got it sorted - you are not the first nor will you be the last to be tripped up by the horizontal hold pot location on a 20ez.
