I'm in the middle of a DK JR restore and have some repro side art coming. I've never done sideart before but based on the cost - I really don't want to screw this up!

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to properly apply sideart without wrinkling it? Tips? Tricks? Suggestions?

Also how far down should I apply the artwork? As with anything I'd like to position it exactly where the factory did.

hey coleco check out my posting ... contains a link discussing proper placement of the DK JR side art ...

I'm not an expert at applying side art but here my tips are ... cabinet prep is key ... it needs to be a clean and smooth surface ... first position the side art using painters tape ... once positioned, cut off a couple inches of the backing at the top and stick the art onto the cabinet ... after the top is secured you can begin to slowly peel the backing to apply the rest of art ... use a credit card or squeegee to ensure it is applied correctly and to eliminate any bubbles ...

these pictures from my DK restore may help ...

I would do a quick search bc there are a ton of postings on this topic ...

+1. What I use though is a lint free cloth and my hands to apply on the way down. Get the top couple of inches on and slowly peel the backing and work from the center out. For me it just gives me more control than a squeegee or anything else and I can feel how it is going on.
