Just curious if anyone has experienced this before. I just rewired a vs cabinet to a dk jr cab, and when I turn on the machine the sync seems to be off, it's just a lot of scrolling and garbled images. However if I leave it on for maybe 20 seconds, then turn it off and then back on, the image is totally fine. Works like this every time, anyone have any idea what my issue could be?

my mario bros used to do the same thing untill one day it would not sync no matter how many times i turned it off/on. Ended up i had to adjust ter pot in the middle of the chassis. Been working fine since

Which way does it scroll?

It scrolls vertically, it basically a lot of really thin lines of the screen displayed.

It's probably your Horizontal Hold (since DK Jr. is vetically oriented, when the H-Hold falls our of synch the screen scrolls vertically).

The pot is located in the center of the monitor chasis, to the right. It can be really flakey and may need replacing. Be careful when you adjust it because there is some voltage back there and you'll be right by the flyback. Use a plastic adjustment tool (or make one) so that you can safely adjust it.

You might contact Buffett who's a member on this sight if you need the part. It's kind of hard to find.

I had one that was painfully difficult to get adjusted and would routinely fall back out of synch on its own. It would take me 15 mintues of trial and error to get it to hold. After I replaced the pot it was much easier to dial in and has been fine ever since.

+1 on the H Hold pot in the center of the chassis. I moved a freshly capped EZ from my Vs set up to my Jr and the same thing happened. For a second, I thought I messed something up, but it was just a quick turn of that pot.
