Dk JR monitor help:)

Ceramic resistor

Okay tested the resistor with the multimeter set to 200 on the ohms portion...
It registered 183... I tested the smaller ceramic resistor and it came bac at 2.5... I am guessing that the large one is fried and that at some point this monitor was plugged into the wall...as I've read that will fry stuff. And idea what's next... Btw the small fuse on the back is a 5 amp and is intact ... The larger slow blow fuse is also okay and it's a 4 amp slow blow

That's fine. It's supposed to be 180, and it's only 10% tolerance.

And this is a huge problem. This is supposed to be a 300ma fuse. Chances are the horizontal output transistor is shot, (likely due to a bad flyback), and it blew the fuse, which someone replaced with a much much larger fuse. Something in the circuit is getting real hot (probably the above mentioned 180 ohm ceramic resistor) and making the burning smell.

Check the horizontal output transistor (HOT) - it's probably shorted.

perhaps im in over my head

Okay... i think i may be in over my head... but what the heck... so I guess i need to change the Flyback, HOT, Cap kit... anything else while I am at it?

I think this may be going out for repair... anyone on here have any suggestions to who?
I have one member in support of Arcade Cup... any others?

Thanks,
Justin
