DK jr. and DK3 boards in a DK cab

It can be plug and play with an edge connector. DK and DK Jr may have the single connectors that go to the pcb. DK3 came standard with an edge connector.

All depends on your wiring.

This is true, I have edge in mine and forget that's not the norm, so yes you do need edge for III.

I have a DK 2-board set with the edge connector, but my wiring is the original style. How hard is it to convert from the original to the edge connector? Trying to weigh the pros and cons of doing it so I can pick up JR and DK3 boardsets.

If I convert to the edge connectors, can the other Nintendo games (MB, Popeye, though those would require a monitor rotation) swap in as well?

The easiest way is to get a DK3 harness and swap it with the original DK harness.

Yes those will work just need to turn the monitor to horizontal for them.

ok, so I am a nintendo newbie.

I have a 2 board dk set with d2k. It doesn't use the edge connector, it's a pain in the ass 10 little plugs that connect to different parts of both sides of the boards. I am sure people aside from myself are very familiar with it.

If I get a DKIII harness, I can plug and play dk, dkjr and dk3?

Can a guy get a nintendo/jamma adaptor and use a 6 in 1 switcher and play all the boards in the cabinet at the same time?

Or would I need a few of the adaptors to plug into the 6 in 1 board holder.

Spaeth sells an adapter for the multi-harness setup you have. Dokert is working on one I believe.

If you want the multi-game (Jamma) setup, a DK3 edge harness will work with an adapter..

I know, the multi-harness set-up sucks balls. I am dealing with that myself. Just can't seem to connect with spaeth for the adapter.

To use a 6 in 1 switcher you would have to put a jamma harness in your DK.
My DK has a 6 in 1 with DK,DKJR,Dig-Dug,Pac-Man,Galaga and a 60-1.
It has a jamma harness and switching power supply in it.
Here are some pics.

Thanks guys to step on board of this topic.

If I filter all the info above which is not important for me I believe the following is true: Yes, I can put DK jr. in my DK cab (which has no harnas with an edge connector), but I need a harnas adapter in order to be able to play DK3 (I dount want to adjust the existing original DK wiring).

This is correct as I understand it, yes.

This is the adapter you'll need. Speath (HudsonArcade) makes them:

Good luck, I've been waiting for these for a long time. I think he's too busy, er something. :(

The one Wondercade posted is to is to adapt an original harness, with the little connectors,to an edge connector type.
The one RPO_Z06 linked is to put multiple pcb's in one cab.
Mark has been moving into a new house and maybe once he is settled in for good he will have the time to work or test them for you guys.
