Got a problem with my donkey kong. I moved it back into my house after an arcade party, but now the cabinet won't start and only shows zero's and nines on the screen, the sound is still working though.

I reseated all the connectors and that helped for a (very short) while. Also plugged a spare Nintendo power supply in but the problem remains..

Have any of you experts have an idea what could be the problem?

Yeah that looks to be a CPU related issue to me. For starters re-seat the Z80 and program ROMs on the CPU board.

EDIT: Oh wait.. you get sound? Does the game coin up and start etc? If so then it sounds like the CPU+ROMs are seated fine.

Yes, i get the start up sound (when you turn the game on), after that it kinda repeats the same sound again and again.....

I'll try re-seating the chips tonight, thanks for the help so far.

Ah OK then yes it is an issue with the CPU PCB. That sound is repeating because the game it watchdoging (resetting over and over again)

Thanks, the monitor has the bob roberts cap kit installed (by a friend). I also restored the wood damage and toughed up some spots with color matched paint.
The side art is from phoenix and i got some new flat t-molding. The board set (tkg3-up) was fixed by a friend and last but not least, an excellent harness made by dokert was used.

Now don't $^%&!~ move it.

Probably better that he did, he exposed some loose chips. Now they're nice and tight again :)
