Ok last night I posted this on the monitors thread page and realized from help that it is not a monitor issue so here it is again:

I just did a cap kit. Got it from Bob . I did the deluxe cap kit and also replaced the regulator, chassis, and the B+ filter.

My problem of the white bars are gone. The picture looks really good but donkey kongs body is blue and his head is brown. The barrels next to him are also blue instead of brown. What is weird is on the in between screen DK is brown. There is also a white bar above the princess.

I think I have adjusted everything and I cant get the blue to go. The screen has a wave. I read that the wave is cap c606. That cap was not replaced.

Dokert said it was a board set issue and told me to reseat all my connectors. I did that and it still looks the same.

I was able to find some old pics of the monitor before I did the cap kit, Dk was blue and the white bar above the princess was there then.

You might have a problem with one of your proms. The next thing I would probably try doing is reseating the proms and maybe the eproms for the heck of it. You can find more info on DK color issues here:

I didn't see your specific problem, but it may give you some insight into what is going on.

yeah by the way that DK is cut and some of the tiles that make up his body are off color... it's got to be the ROMS.

unless you can test and reburn the chips... I would just send it to Dick M. He fixed my DK for $60 (return shipping included)

It's funny seeing the big white box at the top of Kong's ladder. They put a big black box there so he disappears behind it when running up the ladder with the lady. Without it, he disappears in pieces as he runs up the ladder in that area (like it does on Crazy Kong). I guess it was just easier to cover it up than fix it :D
