Picked up this machine today. It has been in the sellers gameroom since purchased new in 2008. She told me they blew a breaker in the house one night, and it never worked again.

Machine is Mint. Im not sure what the metal brackets on the bottom are for, but they are factory. I removed them. Looking at the audit menu. The machine had under 350 plays on DK, Under 175 DKJR, and under 100 Mario:eek:

Dude! What a great find...should be interesting to see if it can get up and running. It's such a perfect multigame, and in a smaller cab no less! Save that space!

I found the problem 3a main fuse was blown. I dont buy the story about the blown house breaker. I got it up and running, and the marquee light didnt work. I replaced the bulb, and blew the bulb and the fuse twice. Looks like a bad ballast in the light fixture:D. Its running solid now, just no marquee light. The picture I took is a blurry, but its just my picture the monitor looks perfect. Will take a better picture tomorrow. im excited that this is jamma. Im considering getting one of Clays Jamma switchers and adding a 60-1, and a arcadeshop multi board I have laying around. Then I can switch between the 3 boards. Only thing is I would have to add a button, and im not sure if I want to do that.

Yes smaller cab is great, since I have space issues. What I really like is that it has a 19in monitor :)

I'm pretty sure those metal plates are for giving the cabaret a better foundation, so it doesn't tip over. Just a guess!

I guess that they could be to give it a better foundation? It for sure came from the factory that way, the way they made room for the bolts on the inside confirm that. I thought they looked horrible so I too them off, and put the bolts back in. looks much better IMO.

Lady said she paid 3K for it. I found something that backs that up, with a picture of the metal side plates. She even gave me the original manual and shipping paperwork.

Yeah, I figured you would get it running quick. They didn't know what they had, and even paid the premium for it. I haven't been to Costco in a long time, so I had no idea they sold these. Of course, I wouldn't pay $3k for too many cabs either...

As cool as it is to see 3 great Ninty games on one cab, for some reason I'm pining to see Joust being played on that thing. ;)

You can load Joust on the Arcadeshop board but its a horz game. If I add the arcadeshop board to it, I will load the vertical list. Arcadeshop board only allows you to load either Horz or Vertical games, not both. But Gorf, Sinistar and DK2 would be cool, there is also a vertical version of moon patrol and missile command :)

Yah i was thinking the brackets were for stability or for someone to bolt it to the ground. Awesome find!

Yeah, that's true...vertical screen, duh. Joust 2 has a vertical screen though, but not sure if you would want that. You gonna switch out the 4-way for a 49 position optical joystick for Sinistar?

How is the gameplay for all three games? Does it have the same feel? I am guessing that the sticks are microswitch 4 way. The nintendo sticks have a different feel. Does that affect how it plays?

I've played the upright at Dave n busters. The games will allow you to continue if set up. I would change the joysticks and buttons to nintendo originals, I couldn't play for shit on those joysticks, they are to stiff....giggity

Looks great! I would love to get one of those someday for my upstairs game area. Really cool! Nice score!

It plays pretty good, I was surprised. I am considering switching out the sticks, I have some extra DK sticks laying around. It does have a continue mode, but I turned it off. Sounds and game play seem identical which is expected, since its an official namco release.
Is that coin door just a picture?

Yes no coin door. However they have marked the spot for me to cut one out. I have already looked at the board settings and it can be set up to take coins. If I keep it around I will modify it:cool:

The joysticks killed me the time I played on the full size version of that cab. They're so high up! Hurts the wrist.

Also, I found the walk/jump/stomp sounds a little off but the rest of the sounds were right. Gameplay was right, I didn't notice any difference.

Here is a solution to your button issue.

They make different designs and they have 2 in 1's also. This way you can have more buttons without destroying the CP or overlay.

Think if I add the arcadeshop board and switcher. Im only going to load the roms that use the joystick and 1 button. Im not going to hack the panel. I might consider a double button if I can find one that looks ok??

Joystick height isnt bad on the cabaret version, but I might still switch them out with original nintendo sticks. I have a double DK board in my dedicated Dk cab, I find the sounds on this are better than the sounds for regular DK on the double board.

how is mario on a vertical?
thats wierd

It not bad. Its kind weird that it doesnt look as wide, but it plays very well:cool:
