DK Cabaret

Okay here are the measurements that should help you figure out the angle...

Side piece closest to the front is 36 1/8"....middle of the side piece is 51 3/4"....back of the side piece is 41 3/4". From the front edge to the point plumb with the peak of the cabinet is 7 11/16" and from the back is comes 15 15/16". That should be the 5 points you need for plotting the angle. I know a few of them are a bit odd measurements but hopefully they work out. Also here are a few other measurements I grabbed.

Cab is 20 1/2" wide
Distance from under control panel to the coin door is 10 1/2"
Speaker cutout is about 3 1/2" in diamater.

Lastly here are a few pics of the side and a back view if they help....

Absolutely awesome. When you get the time, can you get me the height of the back door, the measurements of the piece underneath it and the piece above it? Also need the outside dimensions of the base and the inset of the base from the back and front of the cab. Are the top, sides and bottom of the back door jamb routed like the upright? Preciate the help SuperGun.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but do you plan on adding some sort of side-art to the cabinet once you get it made?

I *think* the door is jam routed but I'll check for sure this weekend when I grab the other measurements. Should be cool to see this thing when you're done. :)

Was the cab made out of particle board? I am going plywood either way, but I just wanted to check out of curiosity. That's interesting that the roof of the cab is laminated too, woulda though it would be painted black like the upright. One bolt on each side for the monitor bracket, eh? Be nice to get the measurements from the bottom and both sides to the center of that bolt as well. I'll need the CP width and height as well I just realized. I assume it's just a mini version of the full-sized wooden cp. Oh, how does the bezel mate to the cp? Is there a piece of wood between them, or a metal bracket, or do they just overlap? That should do for now. I owe you one. Or several.

Okay some more measurements for ya.

Control panel is 19 1/4" x 6 1/2" and note it is angled a bit in the front to overhang the bezel.

The bolt on the side is 35 1/4" from the bottom and 2 1/4" from the back side.

Here's the pieces on the back that the door rests against on the top and bottom. The top is 1/2" and the bottom is 3/4."

Now for the base. The front and back pieces are 19" each while the sides are only 18". The front piece of the base it set in 1" the sides are set in 3/4" and the back is set in a bit further at about 3 3/4".

Now, I forgot to ask the height of the kickplate panel and the distance the coin door edge is from the left edge of the kickplate. I also need to see a pic of the profile of the back (bezel side) edge of the control panel. You say it has an angle? Is there a lip as well, or a transitional piece between the CP and the bezel? Can you also get me the glass bezel dimensions? Thanks a lot for all this legwork man. I know this shit can be a pain.

I'll grab those measurements and pics in the next few days. I'll be on vacation after tomorrow so I'll have a good amount of time for arcade stuff. Hopefully I can get my Q*Bert cabinet finished up this week too. :)

Cool, I need the measurements for the roof piece as well. Also, a question. Is the back of the monitor area the backside of the same piece that is the back of the cabinet, above the backdoor? Or are there back to back pieces butted up against each other? Also, what purpose do those plywood blocks serve that run around the monitor inside the cab? They don't seem to support the monitor or the bezel, so what are they there for?

Ok a few more pics and measurements. First he's a shot of the backside of the control panel that has an angle to it. It overlaps the bezel slightly and you can see the plexi and the cardboard bezel sit in that little area on their own. The bezel is 19 1/4" wide and 17 1/4" long.

A few other measurements and answers...

Coin door frame is 1 1/4" from the left edge of the kick panel.

The kick panel is 34 1/2" tall an the top panel is 18 1/8" tall.

That back area is one piece just with that routed part for the back door to sit in. Offhand I'm not sure what those plywood blocks are for. They don't look to do anything so I can't imagine why they are there unless the cabinets were build generically and maybe another game used them for something?

Are you missing the top piece to your coin bucket enclosure? Or isn't there a top piece like the upright? Does a coin box slide in that area somewhere?

The image I saw of a cocktail instruction card had a border around the edge. The card on the left looks like the same as the one that goes under the cp of the upright. Mikesarcade.com has that but I don't know if anyone has the card on the right offhand. Also gameongrafix.com (formerly mamemarquees.com) can print the marquee sticker if you need it. I was very happy with my Simpsons side art that they printed for me.

Is that an interlock switch on the right side?
DSCN0622.jpg

Nope that's the power input for the monitor. There are no interlocks of any kind in the cabinet.

Edit: Ya know that's a great question about the coin bucket. It's always been that way and I've not seen a scan of the cabaret manual, but there has to be something I'm missing. There's a round hole cut in the bottom of that coin box area so I can't imagine they would just let coins pile up there (thought it was the home for a mouse when I first bought it :()

Are those 3 bolt heads in the front of the wooden bezel retainer holding the metal bracket that holds the front of the monitor up as seen here?

Also, what are the dims on that wooden bezel retainer, and the cp latch pieces on either side of it?
