Is it safe to assume that an original DK cab (blue) would have the 3 monitor bracket bolts in the cabinet sides? Wasn't sure if there were runs that didn't utilize these bolts. I came across pics of a cab that's in incredible shape, and the wear in some areas of the cabinet would seem to indicate it hasn't been restored, but the mounting bolts are absent.

Some had all 5 holes, some had only 2. I'm pretty sure that Nintendo used blank cabs from all different types of stock BITD.

I was never able to figure out if there was a definitive answer to this...

DK's came from the factory with the 2 upper bolts on the side only. If the cabinet had the other 3 then it has been converted at some point then converted back. More often than not it was to convert to a kit - Mario Bros, Vs. games, Popeye etc - all those games use a horizontal monitor hence the 3 extra bolt holes per side for the monitor mounts. - Barry

Thanks for the replies guys - I'm going to guess since there are zero bolts in the side of this cab, it's been restored, with the monitor mounted in some fashion that allows for the sides to be bolt-free, and is not all original. If it looks too minty to be true...
