Hi there

I have a DK PCB in a JAMMA Cab using one of these Adapters

NIN2JAMMA.jpg

The Analogue sounds coming from the adapter work fine.

The problem is I am not hearing any music at all (Digital?).

Has anyone had this problem and managed to fix it?
Any suggestions?

Thank you

The problem is likely not the adapter as I use the same one on my bench with no problems. Like mentioned, some of the 8035's had silver legs and tend to corrode. They also seem to have a high failure rate, I have found quite a few bad ones.

Also, DK has a sound POT on the CPU board that is JUST for the digital
sounds, make sure that is not turned down/off. Then check the 8035
like the others suggested, then check the 3X eproms.

Well you are all right

The 8035 had really corroded and tarnished legs. While carefully cleaning them 2 legs broke off.

I had a spare board, swapped it out (it's legs were shiny) at it's all back to normal.

I also found out for future reference to all, the digital volume pot on the PCB (VR2) is Low volume if anti- clockwise and full volume if clockwise

Thanks guys

I installed your DKII PCB Scott and it works perfectly.

One thing I realise is the fireballs have disappeared (DK2 Foundry)

I bought an early rev and the fireballs make the game almost impossible (I use it in MAME)

Any chance of confirming this rev happened Scott?

I was not involved in the design or software of DKII or foundary at all
other than providing some info to Jeff about the HS kit hardware
platform. Jeff did all that tremendous software work himself!
I do build the kits for arcadeshop.com, but I dont sell them myself.
I would suggest contacting Jeff if you have any questions about
DKII or foundary.

The fireballs are only gone on level 1-1. They come back on level 2-1. They key with the fireballs (as I'm finding out) is to be patient and sometimes even jump backwards to avoid any possibility of getting hit by a fireball on the lower level conveyor. Only go forward when you know you're safe (i.e. when the fireball is in mid-air over a fire pit you're not crossing).

But yeah, its supposed to be like that. No fireballs on 1-1. I think its revision 1.2.

Thank you JB :)

I bought the Roms from Jeff and replaced the DK ones in MAME to trial it. In MAME the fireballs come in on the first level.

IE like crazy kong: Barrels, Conveyors, Elevators, Rivets, Foundry (Never got past so don't know what's next) LOL

Thats because you are down under in Australia. Same as the toilets. LOL.

Being a that I'm a pretty avid DK player, playing D2K for the first time was really cool because you have to figure out how to beat the boards all over again. It was like playing DK again for the first time.

And I know it says there are only 4 new boards but the original DK boards (except for the rivets) were tweaked substantially and even the rivets board plays a little differently. Great game, but really hard.

Also, in 1.2 it should go

Foundry
Barrels
Refinery
Cement
Incinerator
Springs
Mixer
Rivets

Repeat
