I was wondering if anyone would be interested in vinyl stencils that you do all of the work. What I was thinking is that I could cut the stencils from your vector artwork. I need it in Corel Draw. I would send the cut stencil and application tape separate and you could do all of the weeding and apply the application tape. I think a fair price would be $2.50 / running ft + shipping. I can cut up to 29" wide x any reasonable length.

Example: Pinball machine (two colors)

Sides (head art on same sheet): 51" x 4 = 204" = 17'
17 x $2.50 = $42.50

Coin Door: 3' x 2.50 = $7.50

Total for a pinball stencil: $50.00 + shipping

I have the paint mask vinyl on order. It should be in by the end of the week. I can start cutting next weekend.

Think about this one guys. It took me quite a while to be able to apply 3 foot wide 5 foot long application tape successfully WITH all the table setup I made to do it. It will be an absolute nightmare to apply that stuff just in pieces not on a roll. It's worth the few extra dollars to have someone do the picking and app tape install. It really is.

I agree. It's a pain to pick all of the little pieces out of the vinyl. Applying the mask can be difficult as well. But in the past, I would have done this in order to make a job cost effective.

I'd be interested, I'm about to start hunting for a "Williams" logo stencil for the Smash TV speaker cover.

Let me know when you find a pin that's only base + 1 mask, lol. I think it's a fair price if someone has the patience to do it.. I don't. But given the lack of some of these stencils being available, this may be the only viable option for a lot of games.

That price would be base plus 2 masks. I guess I should have said 3 colors. I was thinking two masked colors.

Not bad at all then....I think Shuttle is only 3, and the stencils I've seen for it on ebay are 149$ IIRC...

*edit* looked it up... 139.95+12.50 ship.

It is time consuming to remove all of the gudge and that's probably why Space Shuttle is so high. I used to think $300 was high for a Ms. Pac. I just did one for me and it took hours to remove all of the little bitty pieces. Now I think $300 is a bargain. It's all about perspective. I just thought I'd offer this as an option. I would have purchased stencils this way before I had my cutter.

I dont understand either of these theads

have no idea how youd send pieces of premask
not to mention how hard it would be for someone whos proably never masked before to do it. along with the table space to do it right as ProK pointed out

The only way-IMO to save on stencils is to have them done/cut by someone who knows what theyre doing and offer them unweeded and premasked.
this can cut that current cost almost in half especially with something like a MsPac

This means youd apply the stencil as usual but once applied youd then have to weed the stencil after in was on the cab. before painting.

Some of the stencis ProK offers are like this which helps regestration on multi colors that dont really intersect like say Joust.

just my 25cents

No problem. I can apply the transfer tape before shipping. But really it's not that difficult to apply. Maybe not easy, but not impossible by any stretch of the imagination. If you have applied a vinyl decal or stencil onto a game successfully, I can't imagine you having difficulty putting the transfer tape onto the vinyl after you've weeded it. Especially if you have two people to do it. One holding and one smoothing.
