Hey guys.

I need a Konami to Jamma adapter and I can't seem to find one that isn't in China.

Would this be something I could build myself? Just buy a 36 pin edge connector and a Jamma connector and wire the appropriate connections over?

Is it that simple or are there steps/important things I am forgetting?

This is pretty much all that is required. I build adaptors to test non-Jamma boards fairly regularly. The only problem you may run across is if the game uses odd voltages (like any required AC voltages) or needs sound amps or color inversion (as many Nintendo games).

Pinouts for many games are available online, I tend to use Crazy Kong's website. Also you should verify where exactly "pin 1" is on the non-Jamma board. Sometimes it is numbered left to right and sometimes right to left. If you screw this up you could fry the board.

It's for a Track and Field. The cab was converted to an NBA Jam and in terrible shape when I picked it up.

I've since repaired the cabinet, (it's more bondo than MDF now) obtained a CP and am ready for paint/decals.

Rather than rip out the Jamma harness to put in T&F guts, I figured I would save time and just get an adapter to make it go.

I'll build an adapter and show my work to you guys before I plug it in and burn my house down.

Thanks!
