new to this forum. just picked this up the other day. i called dixie and they said this unit is so old that the manual for it is non-existent. i have a call into a company to come over and give it a once over for $100. am i being ripped off? i would like to drop the coin to $.50, right now it's at $.75. any help? anyone actually know where i could get my hands on the manual? the machine works, it's pretty damn cold in there. mechanically, i have no idea how to work it. any and all help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

kaosfreak, what kind of coin mech is in it? i have a few manuals for coinco mechs, it may be what you have. let me know. [email protected]. I would not pay $100, but thats just me. Hit me up, I can help you out...

someone hand wrote "s95-98008" on the side of the coin mech. i also saw a serice tag inside that said the unit is a DNCB 290. i don't know what i did w/ that guys number, the one who is coming out tomorrow. i just might eat this one and hopefully he can get me going. i will email you some pic tomorrow of the unit and the coin mech. thanks for your help!!

i'll see

I'll see about the manual,
As for the Dropping it to 50 cent, look BEHIND the coin mech.
It should be connected via a ribbon cable
pull it out (not disconnect) and look behind there should be dip switches :)
Those will set pricing.
it vends otherwise?
usualy pretty good solid machines.
DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE looking at motors ETC.
I thought a couple of nights ago i can sneak motors cover back on
I hit hot line, Lucky me house circuit breaker kicked in!

thanks. i had a guy from CNR vending come by last week and give it a once over. he said the coin mech i had was toast. he replaced it w/ one he had in his car for $50. works now. he showed me how to change the cost settings. but after looking at how much soda is, i am keeping it at .75
this unit is older then me, which might not be saying much. here is a pic;

Not a bad unit.

My machine is newer, takes the "new Freon"

This is the same machine I recently found. Would love to see some pics of the internam mechanics to make sure mine is put togther with correct parts. Specifically the vend motors, relay, coin spacers/shims. Ive contacted a couple vendor supply companys for dixie and nether have ever heard of this model DCB 290/170-5.. Any idea the yr?

Manuals

For the manuals try not to get to specific. If you go to Dixie Narco's (Crane) website you can access many of the old manuals.

You will want to find anything that is a (Pre-1990 ) They call them the Series 90 manuals. What it will cover will be ALL the DNCB manuals. These manuals will cover around 95% of all the parts, and service information that your DCB machine will need.

I have a DCB machine to be exact it's a DCB 156/93-6. I searched high and low and looked for hours. I finally called the company and talked to their technical support group. I happened to be able to talk to a technician that has been working on Dixie Narco machines for around 30 years.

He sent me ALL the manuals that he could in PDF format. They are ALL DNCB manuals. I have compiled a list of all the common parts that are usually needed for replacement.

The manuals will walk you right through the entire machine. Usually is you call technical support with a part number from the DNCB manuals it will be backwards compatible with the DCB machines. They don't change much, (the old ones)

I have ordered several parts,

AC POWER CORD
WIRING HARNESS
VEND RELAY
SOLD OUT LAMPS
SELECT SWITCHES
CHANGE LAMPS
SPRINGS
ETC.

GOOD LUCK, IF YOU WANT HE MANUALS E-MAIL ME AT [email protected]

DCB

DIXIE
CAN
BOTTLES

LOOK AT THE WIRING DIAGRAM IN THE INSIDE DOOR.

MINE IS A DCB 156/93-6 and it's a 1979. I would guess it's some time around that.

If you go to wikipedia and type in PEPSI you can look at look at when logos changed and it will aslo give you in idea.

ALL PART NUMBERS ARE LISTED LIKE;

804, 302, 509.01

Three numbers, following by a decimal point and two number look inside the machine you will be surpised everything is associated with a part number. Technical support at Dixie Narco (Crane) has the DCB manuals (hard copies) they were able to fax me the wiring diagram.
