One of my favorite movies back in the 80's (along with the all time king The Cat From Outer Space and Tron from that timeframe) was The Black Hole.

Many years ago I had a lucky situation being sent to the company landfill and found a bunch of stuff I rescued.. Among them was this drawing from the modelmakers from the movie as they built the Cygnus space ship. Fans of the movie will note the different name on this drawing from the production name.

In that same lucky day I also got the modelmakers scale plans for making the VINCENT robot, many costume test shots, Tron effects cels and the big one was the actual VINCENT shooting model (I later sold that, in the early 90's it brought what to me was big money at the time).

Anyway, thought some fans of the movie might find this kinda cool so I scanned it.

I loved that movie, saw it in the theatre back in 1979. That is some cool shit right there Bri. The Cygnus, man that was one huge ship. Seemed like you could get lost in it for days. Why did they need all that space I wonder? My favorite scene is still the flaming Asteroid rolling down that giant corridor as they're crossing the maintenance catwalk. Thanks for sharing.

That is just amazing. I really enjoyed that flick as a kid. Great save.

Damn that is awesome!!! Any plans on offering up some re-prints? If so, put me on the list of people who'd buy one. :)

Thanks for sharing. :beerchug:

No real plans to print or sell these, but anyone that wants the hi res scan is welcome to it as long as you have a way to get a big photoshop file :)

If anyone wants to buy Black Hole action figures, I've got the complete set + the magnetic figures. The only thing missing is an original cape on the Humanoid guy (though the repro on him is very good).

I wonder what they have in mind for the re-make? It should start filming soon, if it hasn't already...

I totally want those figures! PM me how much?

I have been jonesin' for the Black Hole for a while now...Just got done getting it on Laserdisc a couple of weeks ago. Gotta love Slim Pickens!

Plus, I was intrigued by the 'Black Hole' poster in the TRON Legacy Trailer....

That is awesome! Have you scanned any of the other pieces? Would love to see the Vincent plans.

Fantastic! IIRC The Black Hole was considered a bit risque for a Disney movie at the time because of the 'gratuitous' violence. Cool movie, I loved it as a kid!

How big? Maybe you could torrent it? I'd leave it seeding for the rest of the year if you went that route. :)

BTW, found a copy of the movie and started to watch it... wow is about all I could come up with!!! I plan on watching it with the kiddos tonight after work... I figure they'll last 10-15 minutes tops before they want to do something else. :D
