Disneyland's Starcade as of 8.17.10

So I'll be heading back to Disneyland/CA Adventure in about 3 weeks. I'm already planning on visiting Flynn's Arcade for the first time.

Anyone check out Starcade recently? Is it still pretty much the same as what I had posted a year ago?

I would not be surprised if there was a Tron pin in there now. Usually there is only one pin in Starcade and usually it's not working very well.

BTW, Flynn's>>>>>>Starcade.

Yeah, I already assumed this. I'm looking forward to playing and taking some pictures before it eventually gets shutdown for something else. VectorInvadr said it was supposed to be taken down a while ago but got an extension due to popularity. With sequels coming out, I would think they would keep it open at least for the duration of the movies.

the last time i was @ starcade almost half of the arcade was filled with overflow merchandise from the star tours shop :( all the games were wedged into a corner and it was pretty craptastic.

i agree with jon.... flynns > starcade

You know, I'm not surprised. Well, I'll post a Flynn's Arcade Photo/Video thread when I get back from my trip. :D

This is still the case. I was just there over the fourth of July. Flynn's is cool. Great selection. The games are a little rough though.

It would just be wrong if there wasn't a Tron pin in Flynn's arcade. Should still be a POTC in the Starcade. The Indy was gone from the gift shop across from the ride last time I was there last year.

I was at Disney a few weeks ago. Starcade was a shadow of its former glory. They did have a one of the those new Seawolf redemption games- pretty cool. I think I spent 10 minutes in the place. There wasn't really much Tron related in place at all.

Wasn't the Flynn's Arcade something at the California Adventure? I know they still have some sort of after dark Tron dance party over there, but I didn't see any evidence of an arcade. Admittedly, I didn't look around too much. That Tower of Terror ride is pretty great, and worth the trip.

Yeah, I never expected Starcade to be as it was BITD. Honestly, I thought it would be worse when I last went. Hearing from guys here, it seems it's gotten even worse. I wonder if that mini Neo Geo MVS is still there. I should make an offer to the operator. I bet it gets no play. :)

Flynn's arcade is way in the far back corner of the "Hollywood Backlot", back by the Monster's Inc. ride. It opened at I believe 5 pm everyday and closed at 10 pm.

Who said anything about sequels? Nothing official has been announced.

Bummer, I wish I'd gone looking for it. I found that whole California Land rather confusing. I didn't even see the Monster's Inc. ride!? I did ride the Little Mermaid ride!

So I'll be at Disneyland all day on Friday. I plan to hit Flynn's sometime before it closes.

I hope I'm able to ride the new Star Tours. I heard that lines are still crazy and the fast pass booths shutdown a couple of hours after opening.

Very excited to take my 18 month old daughter. I think she'll have more fun this time around now that she's babbling, walking, etc. I don't know if she'll be able to handle Pirates or the Haunted Mansion though. :)
