For anyone who doesn't already know, the Disneyland Starcade sucks even more the it did a year ago. Last year if you thought it was bad. You should see it now. It's now less then half the size it was a year ago.

There were 3 machines available to get tokens which I though was silly. There were a bunch of "claw" machines of one sort or another, a mini neo geo, 1 pinball and only a handfull of other arcade machines. Like i said, it was less then half the size it was a year ago. One a good note, I won 7 stuffed animals between two different claw machines.

yeah, i was there in november. all i saw was a neo geo mini, a ms pac/galaga, and some claw machines. i asked one of the attendants what the deal was and he stated that they shut it down so they could put some disney crap store in there instead.

Yep it's true. Most of the Starcade is now a store. I would say only 45% of the floor space in the Starcade is for arcade stuff. The rest was converted to sell crap.

That's sad. However, you're at Disneyland, you're complaining about the crap that's being sold...and yet you're bragging about winning 7 pieces of crap from the crappy claw machines? Man...go ride some rides!

No I'm complaining about the starcade becoming extinct. And yes we rode many rides. We were there for 13 hours.

Starcade is definitely in bad shape, but if you head over to California Adventure they have a "replica" Flynn's Arcade with a bunch of awesome classic games in it. They even have a Tron machine up against a brick wall that has seams that look like it would swing open :)

They still have Penny Arcade on Main St.

Flynn's is supposedly only temporary until they decide to use that real estate to most likely promote another movie.

I actually didn't take shots of Starcade as I was pretty tied up with the family, but it's as expected and not much different than a few months ago.

However, I found a Tron penny souvenir machine at the Penny Arcade. I grabbed 2 out of 3.

This thread got me thinking of the old AMAZING arcade in the Contemporary Hotel at WDW in Orlando. I lived there as a kid and have been searching for some video content of it in it's glory back in the day. Anyone ever go there in the early 80's or know of any video from that time period?

Speaking of merch, this is my "big" souvenir this time around. Ready-to-frame 14"x18" matted print of new Star Tours attraction poster. I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. :)
