Went to disney world and spent the extra dough to go to disney quest.
They had a fair amount of new pins and classic games it looked pretty cool.

It was a parital let down. The games were terrible examples. I planned on playing a few games of tron. They had two tron machines. Both of them were unplayable. The joysticks on both would not hold any direction. The monitors were both in terrible need of caps. Sprites didn't look correct on one. None of the employees seemed to care when I told them they were malfunctioning. Funny the brochure said, " or just kick back and play a game of tron." or something close to that. I was auctually looking forward to putting my initials on the scoreboard.

I did get to play to DOT, the game was playable.

Other than that the new games were fun. However some of the machines were impossible to play as people wouldn't leave, some just kept continuing their games for 30 or more minutes.

There are some cool newer games there. I especially enjoyed a tank game that was linked up with 3 other machines. My son and I had a blast putting the smack down on another father son duo. I guess all the battlezone paid off.

Anyone else been there recently?

I was there a few weeks ago (I have an annual pass). Supposedly they are going to fix all the classics, but they haven't done so yet. Their DOT spinner is absolutely horrible and it doesn't spin free like it's supposed to... I have one in my collection and cringe when I play the one at Quest. It's actually kind of sad that they don't keep them in better shape.

So, no Tron pinball yet? The guy that worked there told me they were getting at least one Tron pin.

Ear Full Don't settle for less!

Nope, last time was Aug 2010, plans are to visit both Land and World before the years out. You spent the extra dough so give Disney an ear full!!! They cannot fix what they do not know is broken. If the staff does not care (which I find sad) the company may, the only reason (games) I pay extra to visit Quest.

I honestly didn't give them an ear full. I just talked to the guy that was overseeing things nicely. I buy the annual passes too. We hit disney once a year, but stagger the vacation by a couple weeks and save a few bucks by buying the annual passes vs. the park hoppers.

What happened was:
I asked him if he knew both trons weren't working properly. He basically said "I'll get right on that", then did absolutely nothing. I was there 12 days. The first day he was told, the last day it was still on the floor running in the same shape. Perhaps I am being cynical but I think they are slipping all over. I have to wonder if I am just setting my standards too high by expecting people to do there jobs with a smile in the most magical place on earth.

Running the arcade at disney quest would be a KLOVer's paradise. But unfortuately it seems that the classics get very little love there. The examples of most classics are mediocre at best.

If playing classics at quest is your reason for purchasing the premium pass.. you should pass. However summit plummet was probably worth the extra. 55-60 mph going down a slide was a trip.

On a side note. I hate lazy people who ride those dang grey scooters around. One rude dude hit my 3ft 9 daughter (ran over her foot). I looked at him and said, " Hey slow down!", "you just hit my little girl." The guy jumps out of his chair and starts telling me off. about 40 people were watching by then when I said to him, "you look pretty spry tough guy..do you really need that."

My daughter ended up with a huge bruise on her foot and it ruined her shoe. I think they need to require some kind of doctors permit to ride those things in the disney parks. It did hurt her, but it could have been worse. Again maybe I am just cynical.
