Have you tried re-seating the ROMs? I had a similar issue that I fixed that way.

I don't have that, but while people are reading DOT video glitches, I get a "flutter" on the multi-platform levels. Only happens when I get to 3 platforms and even happens in the attract mode. It seems to not be as prevalent if the game's been on for awhile, but still happens. I know of at least one other person who has the same problem with an EDOT and said it's actually worse. Anyone else?

Yeah infact multiple times. I even yanked each in order to see if the error remained but they are all doing what they should. I'm almost thinking a address line is out. Or the static ram is fubar'd thats the only thing I can think of...

For checking ROM problems, MAME is your friend. Download the ROM set for MAME, and there you go! Any corrupt ROMs, just burn new ones with the MAME data.

Mine was doing that and I found a burnt connector on the board set.Replaced header pins and the connector and it was fine.Hope this helps

Good thought. I actually have a new connector I might hook up. I'm just waiting to open that whole can of worms again until Rich gets the CPOs and light covers done. I just want to do it all at once.

I hear that.. I need that plastic light cover mine is missing all together as you have seen from my pictures... <crossing fingers>

Not sure if this could be my issue. I will say this board set I got was a Root Beer Tapper. Maybe there is a jumper setting I'm missing.. I know on the video board I moved J2 to J1.. and got more graphics back that were missing. If anyone has the board jumper settings or know where to locate them let me know! Thanks!

Old post but no resolution so let's pick back up with this. My DOT looked exactly the same as the pics from the op. Hamster burned new roms for me and after swapping them my problem became a lot worse. I reflowed solder to the sockets and had no change. I unfortunately do not have any sockets to replace them at this time.

I am having a hard time identifying the rom that contains the info in the above pics to affect the discs. Can someone tell me which rom runs the disc data?

Thanks

I put the old roms back in after cleaning the legs really good. I wish I had contact cleaner for the sockets but oh well. Anyways, The problem is gone for now. I also cleaned the harness connectors. So I guess for future searches, try what I did for this problem and see if any improvement is seen.

glitches

All MCR games have flaky ribbon cables that if starting to separate should be replaced. Also the 8 RAM's are two different types and from my experience they don't mix well.

Cleaning & reseating is always the right start followed by swapping new chips one at a time and looking for changes on the screen. From there it's reflowing the sockets followed by replacing the sockets - again one at a time. No need to do extra work and and no need to replace things that are good.
