Discs of Tron LightCovers

sorry guys I had a project go horribly wrong for another vendor that had to be corrected
so all projects in house got set aside untill I could make it right.
that and the Kong Off came up unexpectably.

I am finishing the flourescent screening this week and will be posting those pics
over the next few days and Looking to bend and start shipping these next week.

Do we get interest on these since you've had our money for over 4 months? And they are still for sale on the website for what we paid for them. Just sayin'.

I think Rich should give you a refund so you can go purchase it somewhere else, oh wait no one else makes them, just sayin ;)

I'm all for Rich's efforts, and I do appreciate his products.. he has a successful business going, I'm just wondering why take the money almost a half a year before providing a product? Does he really need us to fund his project, really? He has a business that stocks arcade parts, right?

I knew there would be people defending him, but I think I have a good point here. Now I'm the bad guy for calling someone who's taking money up front (almost a half a year) out? Sorry you feel that way. Maybe Rich will give you a discount for defending him? :) A free T-shirt for you perhaps?

Is he going to remember exactly who ordered since it's been so long? Didn't he forget some of the people who ordered the Tron Encom marquee's when it came time to ship them? I think so.

Nothing I'm saying is untrue or malicious, and I'm hoping that you guys and Rich understand where I'm coming from.

@GameAce
Yes I do understand where your coming from.
But some projects will require the help from others in need to get the job done.
I do ALOT of projects most are funded myself and dont require a preorder.

These preorders were all done on the site so I have 100% complete counts of which
version of light cover is needed. Some even opted for the layaway option and only paid in some, which again was perfectly fine.

Unfortunatly it did take a little longer than projected and I do apoligize and apreciate evreyones patience and support
Other unexpected projects for other vendors and my Rich graphix biz were unavoidable.
Along with the completely unexpected forced shop move (also previosly posted.)

But I have continued to post updates and pics of its progress here.
Unlike others that claimed to have products or delays like high altitudes and cabin pressures blamed for the delays
without ANY pictured proof of ANY product what so ever.
and ANYONE that dosnt want to wait will be offered a FULL REFUND imeditalty.

Initial test fit pieces are being shipped this week to some and the rest will follow imeditaly.

Long Live the Ram Effect :D

Exactly what Rich said. He did everything exactly the way it should be done on a pre-order. He told us ahead of time that it was a pre-order, that it would take months to get them done, showed samples of what it should be, and kept us constantly updated. That's how it works. And hate to tell you, but the interest on $95 for 4 months in the best savings bank would net you about $.05

Plus might I add Rich is the shit! His parts are top notch quality! I'd rather wait for something that is "Right" than half assed somewhere else. So Kudos to Rich... man... without him we wouldn't see half the stuff thats out there!

Yikes! That has to be a joke; asking for interest on a couple hundred bucks paid 4-6 months in advance? I guess I'm probably getting trolled, but c'mon, anyone who's read a few posts here or collected for even a short time understands that Rich's projects almost always take extra time, and are always worth the wait. Even newer members like me know that these projects are funded by taking pre-orders, collecting the funds, then doing the creative and production in bulk to save everyone money. In some cases the foks who ordered early helped fund the initial effort that will allow for future production of the pieces and help collectors for years to come. It's a group effort to benefit the collecting community. Its not like he took thousands of dollars for a faked reproduction SW cockpit, this is a fair amount of money for a complex peice of art that he wants to get done right. We've seen regular pictures and progress updates, and an explanation for the delay.

This isnt' a cutthroat business, its a hobby. I apologize for ranting and raving a bit, and I don't mean to pile on or attack anyone at all; we're all entitled to our opinion. Mine is that requesting few % points back on a hundred bucks you fronted for 4 months shows a lack of involvment in the 'community' aspect of the hobby, and lack of respect for one of it's main contributors.

Ahhh so sorry I thought I updated this :(
The first test print was sent off to to Luckyman last week
and was a little too short.
turns out the Upright believe or not is a little larger than the enviromental, go figure.
and I was using a edot as my template.
but I also encountered a george castanza and it shrunk a little on top of it.
during the heating and forming.

So I made some corrections and have another test fitting out to luckyman now
as well as getting another edot test out to a local tommorrow.

So I should have those new results this weekend I would think
But I feel pretty good on these latest pieces
and will post those results this weekend along with some final pics of the shaped pieces
