That's how i felt when i first started learning about restoration on KLOV. I soon found out it's not for the faint of heart.
This DOT has taken over a year to put together. This thing has more pieces of art than any other game i have tried to tackle - 13 pieces i think.
More important than how it looks is how it plays, the controls now work smooth as silk and it really enhances the experience.
I want to say thanks to:
Rich at This Old Game, he provided amazing repro parts (glass, side art, CP, etc).
Chris (CDJump), got the boards working flawlessly
Groovy Gamer for the new replacement handle
ArcadeShop for the midway metal plates and other goodies
Twisted Quarter, misc parts
This is also not just a DOT but it has EDOT wiring, speech and lights
Started with a really trashed DOT that was mostly working.
Built brand new black melamine cabinet
Cleanup/restored inside guts: power supply, wire harness, PCB, etc.
Stripped and powder coated CP, bolts, brackets
Powder coated and cleaned up coin door with custom logo inserts and LEDs
New T-molding
New Locks
New plastic kick-plate
New Vinyl Casters
New Power Cord
New Speakers
New Midway Metal Speaker Covers
New Midway Cabinet Handles
New Marquee Light Fixture/Bulb
Original Marquee
Original translight (waiting for TOG for new one)
New metal, 3 fluorescent ink - silk screened 0172 panel (I made this)
Repro black light cover (TOG)
Repro Glass Marquee Bezel (TOG)
Repro Glass Monitor Bezel (TOG)
Repro Control Panel Overlay (TOG)
New Black Lights
New Buttons
New Side Art (TOG)
New hand-cut paper bezel
New hand-cut paper marquee light cover
New left and right inside triangular pieces with fluorescent cut vinyl (I made this)
NOS Vision Pro Monitor
That's all i can remember, now for the pix...
