Discovered Anteater...Hard as hell but addictive.

So glad people are realizing that this game is Bad-AZZ!!!

I discovered it through a thread about 3 years ago and began searching for one.

There was a perfect marquee on ebay with a $30 buy it now... but by the time I got money someone put in a low-ball bid. I tried to snipe it but it went for like $60 bux or something crazy in the end.

I posted many, many times for the PCB... and Joe Magiera finally answered the call. He had one that didn't work. Sold it to me for a very fair price. I shipped it to El Dorado games. Paid through the nose... but got a working one finally.

The next day, I found the marquee. Not sure who on Klov... but I was stoked.

Bought a Stern Cabinet to put it in (as these games convert nicely in Stern... similar pinouts.

I am working on customizing the cabinet. I want it to be similar to Burgertime... where the Anteaters eyes are raised above a bit.

Anyway, it's a great game.

My top score is 171K... but I know KoolMoeCraig is approaching the world record from the early 80's.

My problem is the joystick. I can't find one I'm comfortable with.

A tips for newbies:
Always make sure you move the tongue down the CENTER of the board. Never get close to the sides.

Anyway, I have since secured a back-up board in a big trade I made with a guy in the Netherlands.

I might be willing to part ways with it... but I have'nt checked to see if it works or not.

Also, this guy has hundreds of cool/rare boards and he's selling them.

If you're interested, hit me up.

Cool tale! Would love to see pics.

Sometimes it will throw out an ant and a worm at the top where you have no option but to die. If it wasn't for that lack of attention in programming it would be a must-have.

Yeah... sometimes they do throw that out. But you don't have to die.

If you see it playing out like that, attack the situation quickly and hit them both from behind.

I've played quite a bit, and you will instantly notice if the worm and ant are going to get there at the same time.

Anteater is in my top 10 for greatest games ever made. Yes, it's that good.

It was never released as a dedicated game. It was kit only.

PCB goes for around $150-$250. When people catch on to how great it is, I wouldn't doubt it reaches $500.

just ping me when your anteater pcb is up for sale, thanks! :)
