I got a 25" K7000 monitor as part of a $10 auction win last week. It had beautiful colors but a wavy image. So I capped the monitor last night, which took 3 hours because I was so careful. Brought it up tonight and...nothing. No chatter, and no HV apparently, because there was no discharge when I checked the anode after having it on for 5 minutes.

I'm feeling some remorse about washing it in the sink, but I was really careful to blow it out thoroughly with compressed air afterwards. I wonder if I ruined the flyback by submerging it.

Not looking for technical help, just moaning for now...at least I'm only out $25 if I can't fix it.

I'm hoping you did more than just blow it out with compressed air...like left it in the sunlight for 2-3 days or left it in the oven at roughly 120-140 for a few hours (or whatever it is the oven guys do).

If not, you may have fried something. Water gets everywhere, especially in places compressed air can't.

That being said, everything's fixable. I think chris25810 fixes those, not sure though. Worth asking if you don't want to troubleshoot it yourself.

I did rinse it with isopropyl alcohol after blowing it out, and let it sit for 20 hours...but that might not have been enough. From now on, I'm going to stick with just cleaning these with compressed air.

I wash filthy monitor chassis pretty routinely - although I put them in the oven at 175 for a half hour to dry them out. Never had a problem with it - water won't damage the flyback.

Start with the basics, if it's completely dead - check the fuses, check your B+. See where the problem lies.
