Hi all!

I just wondered, my older machines all have disc caps on the switches to make
registering switch closures easier, but why did they go away? My WPC No good
Gofer doesn't have them, even though the ball tend to run very very fast over some
of them...

Any technical explanation why they went away? :)

Thanks!!

The WPC CPU, and thus the switch matrix, runs at a much faster speed than older systems. The purpose of the caps was to make the switch "appear" closed longer than it actually was so that there was enough time for the CPU to see it and it wouldnt get missed between stobe cycles. The newer CPU boards run fast enough, and stobe the switch matrix quickly enough that it was no longer an issue.
