Last April I took on a part time job to maintain the video games at 2 locations in my area. Up until then I had only worked on my own personal collection which consists mostly of classic games but I decided to give it a try and so far it's been great. The games are for the most part new games, all but one has been at the locations for one year. Some of you might already know I have made a few help videos so I thought it would be a good idea to document my arcade repairs with video so I made a few videos and came up with the name Arcade Fix. I wasn't sure how I should post the videos but I decided to make a thread for each game and every time I have to fix the game I will post a new video in the thread for that game. I know not many of us have these games in our collection but in a few years I am sure they will start filtering into the collector hands and maybe this info could help fix a game at that time.
So this is the first Arcade Fix Video repair log.
The game is Raw Thrills Dirty Drivin' and I have a total or four, two at each location to keep running.
The first problem I had with one of the DD games last May was with the steering feed back and was before I started shooting video but I did take pictures. The feed back just stopped working. I opened up the control dash and found the drive belt had slipped off because the screws on the feed back motor pulley had loosened up. Simple fix, put the pulley back in place and tightened the screws with a little Loctite.
The next problem I had was a bad steering pot last June so the video shows how to replace the pot.
The next problem I found was the Dirty Drivin' Yank Crank handle had broken the bolt holding it into the bracket. I was lucky they left the handle with the game and I was able to un screw the broken bolt from the bottom of the shaft.
The latest problem I found last week wile test playing the game. The Yank Crank switch was not working so this video shows what happened to the switch and how I repaired it.
That's all till something else breaks.
