I had an APB with a dim monitor that I traded recently. I was hoping that a cap kit was all that was needed, but he swapped in a known working chassis from a Paperboy, and the monitor is still dim. How likely is it that a rejuvinator can bring back the tube? I am waiting to see if he has a access to a rejuvinator (just started waiting actually, I just emailed him a few minutes ago), to see if that can fix it. After our trade, I got a med res tube in another trade. I would like to avoid shipping this if possible, since I always hear that they break easy in shipping. If he can't try a rejuv, I can try to send mine up there for him to try, but I guess I just want to know if it is likely to fix it before I try that.

If any of you have experience rejuving med res monitors, please let me know what I can expect from it. Thanks.

I would bet that a rejuv will fix it. Worked great on my 2 19" med res tubes. Mine still aren't the most superb looking tubes but brightness of any of the guns is not a problem.

If I were you I'd start looking for a reasonably priced rejuvenator. Money well spent!

I have one, but the owner and the game are not local. I actually haven't used it yet though, but I have an Afterburner that I am going to try it on soon. Well, when it warms up a bit. I have only recently run into monitors that didn't get completely fixed by a cap kit, so this part is a little new to me. :)

I rejuv'd a paperboy monitor for a fellow KLOV'r awhile ago and it had 2 weak guns and the picture was amazing afterwards.

+1

I just rejuvenated a K4915's tube (Paperboy) today... went from BARELY being able to see the image to being very bright. I still need to cap the chassis eventually but it looks SOOO much better now.

These photos taken with the same setting... (note, final photo taken prior to final adjustment)
