I had a G07 with good brightness but tearing and general quality issues.

I did the cap kit including R908.

After putting it all back together, the screen comes on and the game is visible, but is VERY dim.

I checked B+ and it reads about 96VDC. Adjusting the B+ pot seems to make no difference.

I pulled the chassis and went back to the bench. I checked/reflowed all of the solder joints, and verified that the new R908 was 47K. In some areas, I checked for trace continuity from new parts to neighboring pads (to eliminate cracked or raised traces).

I checked the B+ pot and it appears to vary in resistance from 0-2.2K.

I pulled X901 and X902 and used the transistor test on my DMM. Both were "in spec".

Should I replace them any way?

Why the loss of B+ adjustment after a cap kit?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks...

I believe the B+ pot is a 5K pot? Does turing the pot vary the B+ voltage at all? Or does it is dead locked at 96v?

You did adjust the brightness on the flyback after the cap kit, yeah? You'll need to adjust stuff after a cap kit.

Turning the pot does not change the B+ from 96V at all when powered.

On the bench, the pot's value varies when turned and connected to a DMM.
