From what I have read it is entirely too common for Star Castle monitors to go dim... something about a bad batch or a change in spec or something...

My question is: Will these tubes rejuvenate or are they toast?

I have two dim Amprex tubes that both work... but are dim. Any way to save them or is the only value in the yoke?

Also... I have a non-working, untested Cinematronics chassis that is obviously non-working as it's missing, from what I can see, the transistors and a couple of the socketed chips. What is a reasonable asking price for such a thing or would it be worth more just to keep for parts?

These chassis are like nothing I've ever seen before in my life. They almost look like some college student designed and built it by hand in class...

It's no different than any other tube......most of the time a rejuvenation works, sometimes the tube's too far gone and is garbage. You won't know until you try.

My Star Castle was really dim when I got it (~2 yrs ago)... I actually thought the monitor was dead until I looked in the dark and noticed that there was a very faint picture. I rejuv'd it, and it still looks great. I don't know for sure that it's an Amprex tube though.

There's lots of threads on it... but basically just buy a rejuvenator, hook it up (with the correct adapter or a universal), flip some switches, turn some knobs, press some buttons ;) . On my Star Castle, I just used my BK 470 w/ a universal adapter.

I just checked the guide with my BK470 rejuvenator and I can not locate model number M50-102W ... which is the Amprex model number on both of the extra tubes I have...

Does anyone know what adapter I'd use for this tube?

Thanks!
