I recently joined this sight. I have recently become an unemployed electrician and my brother thought this would be a good hobby for me while I am out of work. I have a dig dug game that i believe is original cabinet but the cabinet is in need of "repair". The game itself seems to play fine but i cannot get the monitor to play the picture. Again i am new to this hobby and as an electircian, electronics are very different, yet similar in theory. If anyone can direct me as to where to go to learn how to trouble shoot the monitor i would appreciate it. Or if anyone is interested in the game itself....please let me know. I am open for options. i do have a few other games that i have acquired but all need work. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Thanks and happy gaming.

1st thing id check is the flyback...get a screw driver and hook a ground cable to it...hook ground up to monitor chassis then stick the screw driver under the suction cup on monitor...DANGER so have a screw driver for electical work and im sure you do.
If you here a pop you know the flyback is good,if so the monitor is dead.If you dont here a pop then you need to check fuses on monitor board.
From there it gets a little tricky!

one step you can do is go to the Monitor section and read some of the posts. Do a search as well about whatever you need to learn, that should bring up some previous posts. When you can't find the answer, just start a post of your own. Remember to detail your question and it always helps to have pics.

Most of all, WELCOME!!

+1 ... Figure out what monitor you have and then start searching the forums. You'll be surprised by how much you can learn from a few old threads.
