I have looked around a few places on the Web looking for an Adapter to connect a Dig Dug to Jamma. If one exists it will allow m to troubleshoot some DIG DUG Boards I have on hand.

I am currently using the upright, but thats getting old -- I would rather use the test rig I have.

Can someone guide me in the right direction on this. Can I buy one somewhere or possibly make one?

Well, first you have to clarify whether you have a Namco Dig Dug PCB or an Atari Dig Dug PCB. They have different pinouts.

Otherwise, you can just buy something like this:

Add a connector of the proper size for Dig Dug on one side and jumpers to match up the different pins between JAMMA and Dig Dug to get something like this:

I can do it for you, but I'd charge you $30 for it, and I don't currently have a Dig Dug board handy to test it with before I ship...

They are all Atari boards.

I posted a while back when I got the dead machine for some help getting her going. It turned out to be Big Blue was bad.

But while waiting on the parts, I had bought some extra non working boards (4) as well. I have been tinkering with them and got two of them working, but would rather not use the upright to test every time I validate a repair effort.

The adapter,
I bought the stuff from Bob to try and make my own adapter, and had no luck - my design didnt work. I am not sure if the Dig Dug board didn't work because I didnt have the ARII board connected or if it could be the wires were wrong, or the diagram I used (I found 3 different ones) was the wrong one.

When I get a chance I will reverify my work (Wiring).

I just googled for a pic of an adapter that I saw earlier (No longer produced) to show the ARII connectors on the adapter and found one on mikes.

Man -- Adapters are not cheap. Guess I have to either wait for one to fall in my lap, or suck it up and buy it

I know Mike's says that it's for the Atari, but I thought somebody confirmed that it was actually for the Namco. I'd check for sure before buying it...

I will check it out. Maybe I will get lucky and someone will have one.
Think its worth a shot to throw a request for one in the wanted section?

I am thinking there likely wont be anyone looking to sell one. Its like a mechanic selling his tools I guess.

Thanks

Mike's one is definitely for the Atari version of the Dig Dug board. I've got one right here on an Atari board.

Does not currently exist.

I first made these in 2005.
Quarter Arcade used to re-sell them, but sold out.
Mike's Arcade use to re-sell them, but he made his own boards a few years ago.

3 sources is quite a lot for something that doesn't exist.

The ones Arcadeslop lists are namco, not atari.

I thought that Mike's was out of them too. I stand corrected.

I hate to stir the pot further on this.
Dokert was trying to help and thats whats I asked for. We all use our memories to recall things. (I didnt expect someone to do my research for me and find me a cheap one.) Just some ideas. I appreciate the help nonetheless.

After reading the posts, I was motivated (and annoyed that responses to my post flared tempers) enough to go out and double check my work. I understand the whole numbering thing, I just wasnt sure whats was what on the board. (The boards "A" was actually #1). The easiest way for me to determine a-z and 1-22 and the jamma connections was to mate it all up and start running the wires. I did have some wires crossed - go figure.

I fixed my mess and fired up the rig - Dig Dug lives. More importantly, my Jamma concoction works and I can go forth and conquer more dead dig dugs. I have two more to revive.

Now if I can just learn the art of programming / burning.....

Here are some highlighted "key" words to help your reading comprehension.

I've done several runs of thse and still have them in stock, regardless of who else has sold out of them.

15 seconds of googling would have taught you that I made and still make these.

(admin attack removed).

Make? Or actually sell? I've been trying to buy these from you in the past and have to hound you for them. The last time I tried to buy one I gave up after repeated hounding.

If you were actually acting like a business where you had a list of items you were selling, with prices, and with actual products to sell it would be a benefit for everyone.

Why would I act like a business?
This is a hobby, not a business... I make what I want to make and sell the extras to defray production costs...

I have plenty of "actual products" to sell, but at this point, it's just not worth my time to deal with $20 transactions, hence, no website, and I deal mostly with resellers.

So you've just contradicted your own argument, so you say you have them for sale but now say you don't sell them. Now, what point are you trying to make other than to just act like a [admin delete name calling] and needlessly bash Dokert, after he'd already been corrected ?

So you won't sell them to individuals such as the OP, but you'll jump down Dokert's throat for not realizing you make them. Makes perfect sense to me. If you aren't willing to sell them, then the fact that you may or may not make them is irrelevant.

I never said I wouldn't sell them to individuals... just that I'm not going to jump through hoops and digging through storage to make a couple bucks....if someone asks and is patient enough to wait for me to have a chance to find stuff, then they'll get what they want...

Regardless, whether or not I'm willing to sell them doesn't affect the fact that they do exist, and have existed for >5 years (more if you count the ones I build with my amplified fingerboards before doing the dedicated dig dug adapter), and that Dokert is (admin delete: name calling is getting really old) and wrong.
