Dig Dug cabaret arcade archeology restoration; DD side art!
Here's my Dig Dug cabaret I picked up this weekend. Its serial no #00472 and is located in IL 60073 for those keeping track.
It starting out as a coverted DD to a "Exerion" conversion and it will eventually come back to its roots as a DD cabaret. There is some work to be done. I started off by taking the marquee and side art off. The marquee plexi is all gooey. I'm using g-gone to slowly take this stuff off. Its nice to see the marquee to give me a little hope.
The side art came off great on both sides, with some exceptions . The right side wood vinyl looks great. The left side came off great too, but the previous installer of conversion art had, uncaringly already pulled off a lot of the fake wood vinyl. I'm sad about that. I may have to develop some side art to pull the "rug" over the cabinets sides.
... Has this already been started by anyone?
Things I'll need to gather up are glass bezel, CPO, PCB, volume test switch assembly, possibly a wiring harness, fix or replace the monitor, side art.... This month will need to be mostly elbow grease on this project because of my budget. I'm just happy to get this cab!
