I know I'll be banned from KLOV for asking (suggesting)...................none the less, has anyone ever done a Nintendo cabinet in anything other than DK blue, orange, or red ?

Interested in seeing how they look if they exist.

Thanks

I'd love to see a yellow DK cab.
Yellow is the color I had in mind when I posted this topic.
I have three Nintendo cabinets in my collection, DK JR, DK, and Popeye.
All done in the original colors.
I'd love to add a 4th machine, but I didn't want another blue or orange machine.
I was thinking red, possibly yellow.
It would be ideal if I could find some Mario Bros plastics, thats the idea.
I know they would work with red, but I think it might even look good yellow.

Looking again @ the Mario Bros marquee, bezel, and control panel I think red really works.
Someone posted in the Dr. Mario thread that Nintendo cabinets seemed to use a contrasting color.
I would say I agree with that, and that red would really tie into the Mario Bros art.

Thoughts ?

Go orange and black widebody or go home :p

Red wouldnt look so bad, I don't understand why the marquee is purple for Mario....nothing else on the art work has that color... Oh well

I'm hoping to find a non widebody cabinet to tell you the truth.
That way it fits inline nice with my existing collection.

someone did a purple castlevania. looked cool. I prefer the original colors. I think popeye looks awesome in a red cab.

Klassic on the forums has a purple DK, bought it that way. Ping him and I'm sure he will be happy to post pics.

Thanks all, I'll seek out these projects.
These are the projects I'm working on now.
These I kept the colors inline with "original" colors used.
The Popeye has an Atari serial plate inside as well as Nintendo.
The front (with speaker grill) looked to have been replaced.
It had holes drilled in it, I didn't like it so I used a speaker grill.
I blacked it out with some bristol board underneath it.
