So the first pic is of a dedicated upright. Notice the wiring harness coming out to molex connectors. The second pic is different in that there is no wiring harness with molex connectors. At first I thought maybe it's from a Captains chair, but then I thought that's stupid, why would they do that and make more work for themselves. Then I concluded maybe it's from a conversion kit used on Asteroids and Sega convert a cabs. Am I right???

If so is there a wiring harness that would go from my molex into the front of the cage edge connector. Or would I have to source the missing molex connector used on the dedicated uprights?

Thanks

The Star Trek dedicated upright, cockpit and convert-a-cabinets used the same card cage with the 3 molex connectors.
The card cage with the 44 pin edge connector was used in the conversion kits and the harness did not have the molex plugs but a single 44 pin edge card.
All the boards in both cages are the same but they have a different top so if you want to swap the cages you will have to use the correct cage top for the game harness or make your own adapter.
Their are also 3 different versions of the manual that I know of, one for the dedicated upright, cockpit and the kit which have the differences in the cabinets and the wiring diagrams. Not sure if theirs a manual for the convert-a-cabinet, if so I have never seen one but I don't have a convert-a-cabinet.

I thought so. I was not aware that the convert a cabs also used the molex connectors. I guess I was hoping that a connector exist that had the molex on one side connecting into the main, and the 44 pin edge board on the other for the cage. So at this point , I need to source the correct wire harness for the cage to connect to my main harness which is the dedicated with the molex. Thanks for the info!!!
