difference between bump n jump and bump n jump deco

Are they the same board?

I just picked up a dedicated bump n jump but the screen says

bump n jump
......deco.....

go here and it says deco underneath, but that doesn't always mean anything.

the color of the words bump n jump are all red vs. the red with yellow highlights in the other link.
mine has the yellow high lights. (I think)

my dedicated midway b+j also says deco.. was always unsire if it has the boardset replaced or if they all said that.

Mine has the red+yellow letters.

Could be yours does too but you could have monitor issues not letting you see both colors, OR yeah mabye you have a different pcb or something who knows with these damn things.

mine has the red/yellow letters, and for the record it looks like the game is 100% original inside. (monitor is perfect as well)

the 2 links from the first post show bump n jump (midway) with red/yellow
bump n jump (deco) with just red letters.
You are right, it could be someone who took that picture for klov had a bad monitor.

maybe I'm wrong but didn't the dedicated deco games/cabs use a board with a cassette system? I'm gonna guess that maybe deco made the game and thats why the name appears on the screen despite the fact that it was licensed to another company.

take a look at both the deco and the midway listings in the archives they both have a screen shot that shows the title screen. The deco version only says deco and something about data east. the midway version says the deco and data east stuff plus says bally midway or whatever. So both versions say deco.

the deco versions of bump'n jump, burgertime, ect are cassette load with a security dongle. The game was originally on the cassette system and licenced to bally midway.

Deco's normally have cassette problems, but if you were able to get widels kit that elimiantes the cassettes and the dongles, it makes a cool multigame. Many of the deco titles are unique and very good.
