Did you guys see the proto SD mini side art?

Really cool especially when you consider Atari never made a Space Duel cabaret...

That is not proto artwork... It is for the full size upright Euro model with woodgrain sides according to the flyer. :)

FYI, that is Nash (Francis) fromerly from here selling that, I asked a question about it. It is definitely Space Duel. He had Asterods Deluxe cabaret side art as well that he sold. I was thinking of asking the question of whether or not a Space Duel cabaret was ever made. I assumed not due to the fact that a two player simultaneous game would be tough to play on a cabaret.

VectorJunkie nice catch... I have seen that before too and just did not put two and two together.

Dave

Thanks... I had not seen it before, but didn't think it would be cabaret art either for the same reason Sav mentioned.

DOH! I've seen a ton of woodgrain Euro cabs before but had never seen one with side art, so never even thought about it -- good catch!

I think it would be cool to somehow get that art and use a part of it to make a multi-vector montage for a SD upright cabinet seeing as how there were so many made. Just my 2 cents. I'd buy it but have no graphics skills and my repair skills aren't much better.

FYI, I'm high bidder right now. If I win, I'd be happy to let someone scan it but lack the skills/equipment to do it myself...

One thing that is interesting about this art is that it changed from what was on the flyer... The rainbow bands around the border of the art are reverse order and the flyer had that big area of blue go through the background where these are orange. Probably something else they decided to change for the Euro market. The colors in the art for sale would look better on the faux wood vinyl as a result of the changes even though they deviate from the US version even more. Interesting pieces none the less... Good Luck Sav!

Thanks! I know I'll take a ration of sh!t over this, but I'm considering slapping that on my Asteroids Deluxe cabaret. It still looks like it applies to the theme and I cannot find the A.D. cabaret art. This looks better IMO anyway. Shower me with your opinions please. :D

Now that you mention it, the flyer has blue in the center and the ebay stuff orange. Those are pretty significantly different...

There are several print shops in R-side that can do it. I hade my 1 side of the Cheyenne side art scanned just fine. Or I might be able to get it done at work.
