Did they make a Street Fighter for the Neo geo?

I am pretty sure that is an exaggeration.

Also, I have been a competitive tournament player for fighting games since 1991 and have run a lot of local and national tournaments in the UNited States and I am aware of the King of Fighters 98 and 2002 and the updates to them still being played, but even online on GGPO "millions" is heavily exaggerated because sales would verify this. Also, KOF 2002 (the new one) would not be a downloadable only XBOX 360 title if that many people still played the game.

There is a following for them worldwide, yes, but nowhere near as big as led to believe.

I respect your experience as a player
kof 2002(the new one)is also on playstation 2 on physical format, and of course in the arcades, with boomed sales in asia
most of the western world cant accept anything else than sf,tekken and mk,ok we understand that

Western world has a huge Neo Geo following in Mexico, Central and South America. You know this already.

On top of this I own an arcade with KOF 97, 98, 2002, and XI in separate cabinets and another location with KOF 2003 and 97 in separate cabinets as well. Trust me. I know Neo Geo and I know what I am talking about.

Bottom line is yes, there is a following, but nowhere near as big as you think it is and if anyone knows about this it would be me.

I have been to china many times before, you can see there thousands of people playing kof and rejecting sf,tekken and all the other known fighters
plus the people playing it in japan, latin america, rest of asia and the world here and there,
in total we have a vast amount of players loyal to kof
sf has the fame and all people know it ofcourse in general but kof is the real deal in 2d fighters and you may know it because you are deep into fighters, not just a casual like most people

and dont forget before sf 4,sf series were dead for enough time but kof was always there, all those years

so whats being argued here... popularity or difficulty or enjoyment? my 2 cents...
sf2 was fantastic because ryu, ken, guile and blanka where all devestating...
it went downhill from there in entertainment wise..
sf 3 was technically the most difficult due to the parrying system but the characters r boring..
i always found kof has always been far more balanced and the characters are actually interesting...
i love how iori is a ken/ryu type character but plays sooo damn different, how he feels lumbering and massive.
i could go on forever
both have their pro and cons. I just feel capcom spends far more on advertising than snk/playmore does.
