Did they make a Street Fighter for the Neo geo?

No, but Fatal Fury was in development at the same time, and some consider it the better of the two (though they are very similar). KOF is the 'milked' fighting series on the Neo. Hope that helps.

snk vs capcom includes street fighter characters
in my opinion, they play better than their original form

Am I actually reading this stuff right? Fatal Fury better than Street Fighter II? SVC Chaos plays better than Capcom games?

Wow.

I've seen some ridiculous posts but these take the cake.

Hey, I said SOME would argue. I personally prefer Soul Calibur over either. I'm going by what I've read on Neo Geo sites (which are, obviously, biased). I have a couple of Fatal Fury games on the way, but I haven't even picked up my Neo Geo 2-slot yet. I'm just trying to help spread information.

What posts are you reading. I don't see what you're talking about.

An argument for Fatal Fury Special could perhaps be made, but its tough to pick FF1 over SF II. Even AoF1 and Samurai Shodown 1 play better than FF1, at least to me. It just feels stiff, especially when compared to something like FFS or KoF94.

Well, you said it just by mentioning Soul Calibur as the preferential game =P

I mean, I'm not biased on anything. I love many fighting game series more than anything, but they don't hold a candle in many aspects to Street Fighter or Virtua Fighter.

And then someone like me comes along and says Virtua Fighter sucked ass...see?

So we each have opinions, okay? I admit Soul Calibur is inferior in many ways, but I prefer it. My point is that fighting games in general are a matter of preference, and that while there is no SF on the Neo Geo, there are some circles that consider Neo Geo fighters just as good if not better. I'm just trying to help the OP decide on whatever it is he's trying to decide on.

No one is flaming. Stop trying to create false drama.

I wouldn't say KOF has a "vast" amount of followers. It is played in many countries, but as of right now Street Fighter has infinitely more players. That's not an opinion. That's a fact.

I go by sales numbers and tournament entrants. If you think KOF is such a viable franchise, it would be making more money than it does arcade and console. Whereas the Neo Geo stuff was ok, KOFXII was terrible. XIII does at least have people interested but it's like comparing Ms. Pac-Man to Ladybug.

agree,kof 12 was horrible,kof 13 is the future
millions of people worldwide still play 98 and 2002 so much competitive that you cant imagine

I am pretty sure that is an exaggeration.

Also, I have been a competitive tournament player for fighting games since 1991 and have run a lot of local and national tournaments in the UNited States and I am aware of the King of Fighters 98 and 2002 and the updates to them still being played, but even online on GGPO "millions" is heavily exaggerated because sales would verify this. Also, KOF 2002 (the new one) would not be a downloadable only XBOX 360 title if that many people still played the game.

There is a following for them worldwide, yes, but nowhere near as big as led to believe.
