I was transporting my pole position upstairs. Beforehand I was having issues with it working that turned out to be burnt edge connectors. Repaired and cleaned up all edge connectors what do you know it came up with no issues. So I turned it off and put the back door on (not locked just placed back on) as I was bringing it up the stairs my brother pushed a little to fast and I landed on my ass at the top of the stairs letting the dolly go. during the fall the back door slides out and the top of the dolly handle made it inside the cabinet. Well wouldnt my luck just call for what happened next. Heard a loud wushing sound that turned out to be the dolly snapping off the yolk and taking out the monitor PCB at the same time :(

It wouldnt have so bad if it wasnt just fixed and working before the stairs :(!!!!!!

I'm really sorry to hear that man but at least you're OK. We need to remember to wait for help in moving these beasts sometimes.

He had help. Sounds like he would have been better off by himself! ;)

yeah not too happy with myself right now ... or my brother :p Guess I will have to do a monitor swap. When the yolk snapped it also left a weird design at the front of the monitor like a batman sign or ink blot test.

I feel you. A week ago I was getting ready to move my Pole Position into the basement arcade and the monitor went out. Did a quick cap kit on it and tossed the montior back into the cab. Had people coming over to help me move everything and started rushing around. Needed to move the PP cab to get at something and tilted the cab to roll it, forgot to secure the monitor and it shifted, broke the neck board in two... so mad...

Pole Positions are hard enough to keep running without the monitor problems....

I had something similar happen years ago because a game's back door, which was locked, was missing the off-set piece of wood at the bottom. So with some jostling, the bottom of the door slid out and the door fell sideways into the game and took out the picture tube. I always check and repair that bottom piece on every game's back door anymore.

I am going to pull the monitor from my working PP cockpit and put it in the PP upright it so that I can sell it and free more space for my grails :)

Didn't you have it ratcheted down to the hand truck? NEVER move a game up the stairs without it ratcheted to the hand truck! That way the game can't slide or fall of the hand truck, and if something like what happened to you does happen, it all stays together.

I feel for you. Pole Position is ridiculously heavy. After a friend and I dropped mine into the basement (Yes, we dropped it too, hand cart and all), it went from a working game to a project with a bad monitor. I haven't pulled it yet to find the problem...
