Did my first tube swap... and it was a huge success!

Man, what a feeling. About a week ago I decided to replace a crappy tube on my monitor with another one totally. I farted around with the old yoke and rings, then swapped them around. After a lot of study, a TON of patience, and a little luck, I've got this thing looking shockingly nice. I'm so proud of myself!

But, I hope to never do that again for a long time. THAT was an ordeal. :(

Good job. Most of these things are really not too bad it's usually that people are afraid to damage something in the process. Being careful and taking your time along with a good bit of research can really pay off. Next time it will go quicker.

Congrats on your first swap! I know I was stoked to have mine come to life after I got a free friday chassis/yoke/frame from yellowdog. Who then shipped it to me from Texas.

Anyway I am in the process of swapping out all my tubes. I have collected 10 correct tv's in the past 3 weeks to do just that. I have my first one all ready done but have not converged it yet. It really wasn't a swap it was more of a replacement tube.

Hey where was the most helpful information to you listed at? I know a lot of the manuals have this in them but my first monitor is a 19K7302. :(

No manual...

Congratulations again man on your swap!

You guys are doing tube swaps and I'm still looking forward (in fear) to trying to do my first convergence! Congratulations.
