Major milestone for me today - finished replacing my chassis. Good news - no smoke or anything - bad news... no image either...

Replaced my wei-ya 2628HR with an identical 2628 (the old one was damaged and shoddily patched together again). I got the new chassis from the same place I got the old one (both used) and I'm told its operational.
Hooked it all up together exactly how the old one was connected. The one exception is that I added an isolation transformer (230v to 230v) as a safety measure. I also replaced the large filter cap as the old one seemed very worn.

Turned it on and at first had no image at all. Messing around with the H and V position pots I got this. Don't know where to start troubleshooting so any pointers most welcome! Signal comes from a pandora box - I can tell its worked as I get sound when I move the sticks...

In case I'm missing something basic, here's what I hooked up:
- Chassis power to the isolation transformer and the transformer to power
- Neckboard to the neck
- CRT ground to the neckboard
- Neckboard cable to chassis
- Degauss to chassis
- Jamma signal to chassis

And a pic of the setup:

Good job getting it figured out!
Thanks :)
Its great to have (successfully) finished my first chassis replacement. Had to learn everything from scratch, discharging the crt, how it all hooks up... feels good to come out the other side with a working cab :)
